Cinnamon Grand Hotel & Lakeside Hotel
Colombo, Sri Lanka

Contract Value: USD7,500,000
Date: February 2005 - February 2006
Interior Designer: BSA, Singapore

We were tasked to outfit this top 5-star hotel in Sri Lanka, with the most unique challenge being to bring the main atrium to life. We conceptualised and built a complex water features consisting of a cascading wall and ponds on either end of the structure, where we had to ensure the water would cascade smoothly and evenly down to the collection area. Extreme precision for measuring, cutting and aligning the glass layers was required with no margin for error whatsoever. This, in addition to the innovative pulley system implemented to make maintaining the lighting features in the vast atrium more feasible as well as the installation of an elaborate feature wall consisting of metallic timber pieces coated with silver paint which had to be perfectly assembled piece by piece, helped position us as a truly world-class player.

Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa
Langkawi, Malaysia

Contract Value: RM28,000,000
Date: August 2011 – June 2013
Interior Designer: Blu Water Studio

Our work for this prestigious resort encompassed refurbishing the guestrooms, gym and lounge, where we re-sanded the floors, refreshed the walls with tailor-made timber paneling, re-upholstered all furniture pieces and renewed counter tops with solid granite. The major work, however was centered on the Spice Market, the resort’s premier restaurant, where apart from giving the floors, walls and roof an overhaul, we created the signature buffet tables from pieces of tree trunk; these were installed first, then machine-sanded to shape and smoothen them before completing them with glass tops.

The Danna, Langkawi, Malaysia

Contract Value: RM20,000,000
Date: November 2009 – June 2010
Interior Designer: Axis Network Design Consultants

We were responsible for ensuring the grandeur of the resort remained intact while adding elements to rejuvenate its appeal. Among the areas that our improvement work covered were the lobby, cigar lounge and 128-odd guest rooms. Our most distinctive achievement was the installation of a hollowed-out tree in the bathroom of the Presidential Suite. We had to track down a tree (a piece of driftwood, not a live tree, in keeping with the environment-friendly nature of the resort) that fit with our exact specifications, remove its contents and install it in the bathroom for both aesthetic and practical purposes.
