Project Period : May 2015 – July 2017
Contract Value : RM27,000,000.00
The Pasar Seni station was a RM27 million interior building contract awarded to Can-I that encompasses both sides of the track in three underground levels - Concourse Level, Plant Room Level (not accessible to public) and Platform Level - beneath the ground level plaza, and the entrance at ground level. The previous high-rise terminal look of a transit station has now given way to a modern millennial subterranean station. Veritas, the designers of this project drew their inspiration from the quartz found at Bukit Tabur quartz range in Gombak, Selangor, while the interior design theme of "Confluence" is based on the physical confluence of the Gombak and Klang Rivers. Incidentally part of this project also involved the physical confluence of the new station with the old through an elevated link bridge.
Despite the challenges, our very first underground project was a great success with the completion of a stunning build as well as the lasting alliance with our fellow contractors. Can-I is proud to have played a part in this iconic project that is moving our nation closer to vision 2020.
