Design and Build by The Contractor
Project Period : December 2013 – April 2014
Contract Value : RM1,200,000.00
We were approached by a neighbourhood church in P.J to sponsor and undertake the re-development of an old property purchased by them. This new building is intended to accomodate the Church’s childcare activities and its senior member activities.
The unique part of this project was that almost 95% of the building finishes and materials were procured from the contractor’s own stock of “left-over” material or salvaged finishes from the various job sites undertaken by the contractor in the past 3 years. For example, the external grey color granite cladding was salvaged from an office building in KL; green marble flooring from a renovated hotel in JB; and many of the furniture and finishing works were re-adapted/reused from the contractor’s own stock of old mock-up units and samples.
Indeed, the construction cost of RM1.2 million was mainly attributed to the laying of new M&E services and its purchase of cements and sands and all its new RC works.
We are extremely proud that we are able to contribute and participated in this project by convincing the client to recycle and re-adapt the old building finishes.
