Tabung Haji, Kuala Lumpur

Interior Designer : Skala Design Consult
Project Period : August 2013 – March 2014
Contract Value : RM9,828,558.00

An iconic building with strong Islamic features and being the Head Office for Tabung Haji, the upgrading works were executed with proper planning and coordination as the work involved 3 phases for 3 levels of public areas. Lower ground floor consist of VIP lounge and corporate office, ground floor consist of Banking hall for Islamic Bank & Tabung Haji, TH travel lobby, waiting lounge and lift lobby, while Main lobby and Reception are situated at upper ground floor.

At Main Lobby, the entire circular stone flooring was replaced with combination of new stone and metal inlay that was patterned on repeated floor setting radiating from the centre of building. All the stone were pre-cut off-site and internal perimeter lift car walls were dressed up with stainless steel cladding and Kufi calligraphic art work (constructed with perspec and with LED light fittings). New glass railing was constructed along the void and staircase area to give a full view of each elevation. All existing counters were replaced with new counters, finished in solid surfaces and laminates.

The most challenging part of the project team was the constant “migrating” of one phase to another. Daily discussion and resolution with the office management was a top priority task.
